FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Are you open to the general public?

We are NOT open to the general public, except for:
We host a themed open house once a year, usually in May, which is free and open to the general public or a clambake in October.

2. When we are invited to an event there, can we fish in the lake?

Our fish are our pets, so NO FISHING is ever allowed. You are welcome to feed them small pieces of bread, available at the food stand, which they love. The very large fish you will see our white amour, also called grass carp, which were put into the lake to help control the growth of plants in the water.

3. Do you offer overnight camping?

No, sorry, we do not. But Punderson State Park, which is about 5 miles east of our park, offers camp sites as well as family cottages and hotel rooms in the Manor House.

4. What is your capacity and what is your season?

We have the ability to host groups from 100 to 1000 guests, from mid-May through mid-October. Our wedding limit is 175 guests.

5. Can we bring our own caterer?

We do our own catering and are well-known for our plentiful, fresh, great-tasting food. You may only bring your own caterer if we cannot provide what you need, for example, Kosher food. With our all day, all-you-can-eat service, your guests can "graze" all day long and will be talking about the food long after the day of your event! (And no, we never run out.)

6. Can we bring our dog?

We love dogs and other animals, but the pet policy is selected by the client for the day, not us. Pets, if allowed by the client, must be on a leash, under control, and poop scooped. You should assume pets are NOT allowed unless your Event Coordinator has told you otherwise. Always remember that your pet, who normally behaves perfectly, may well feel uncomfortable or even aggressive in a crowd, with small children and new surroundings. Pets may NOT be brought and housed for any length of time in your vehicle, under any circumstances.

7. How long have you been doing this, anyway? And that name – how do you pronounce it?

Our name is pronounced WEE-GAND, and 2024 is our 92st year in business. Thanks for asking!
